(07/22/04) – Just one week after the astounding success of the Murphy Speedway
Grand Opener O’Reilly Southern All-Star event, General Manager of Operations,
Steve Hixson has resigned his duties at the 5/8 mile facility. In a statement
released to: Racing Associates, Friends and Family Members, Hixson (a 12+ year
veteran of dirt track racing promotion) cited “Professional Matters” as the
source of the departure from Ken Murphy’s establishment. “I have enjoyed my
experience managing the track and wish the people I’ve brought into the company
the very best…” stated Hixson. It will be back to basics for the Racing
Promotions specialist in maintaining the racing web-site DLMNEWS.com and
managing Race1 Radio broadcasting.
